The throbbing in my head has finally ended, and now, I can see The road back home from here is so much clearer to me The fog has cleared and the birds are singing to a new melody The way they carry people, they leave the rest to be I can see your face for miles without a single blur Slowly, you are fading away without a word There is no need for you to drown, i'll drown for you It's too dangerous to go alone, take me with you What is this all about, this need to get around? They all just fall in line before they run out of time Merrily sing to hell, sing as we all Noel Pack your bags and run, fuck this life in the sun I can't just be left behind, but I know you'll come back sometime... HEY! I'M A BELIEVER! I'M A BELIEVER! I'M A BELIEVER! I'M A BELIEVER! I'M A BELIEVER! I'M A BELIEVER! I'M A BELIEVER! I'M A BELIEVER! I'M A BELIEVER! I'M A BELIEVER! I'M A BELIEVER! I'M A BELIEVER! Clovers 05:42
Everyday, I see you standing outfront, waiting for spring to come Everyday, you seem to become more blunt and I become more numb The children, they don't seem to understand, we're leaving them to melt in the sun And i'm becoming one They say it's all I need if I need to feel better To keep for all eternity, but not forever Where I lay my feet, there will grow clovers Everyday, your emotions settle down in the basement, draining the cellars of wine A thousand fists pounding down on the pavement, reminding you that you don't try The children, they don't seem to understand, they're getting tired of listening to your excuses And i'm forcing the bruises To fade, is this all I need if I need to feel better? To keep for all eternity, but not forever Where I lay my feet, there will grow clovers Clovers grow wherever I roam Wherever your boats are sailing towards I will follow Whenever you grieve, whatever you need For it, I will bleed and give you safety Even if you don't need me Clovers grow wherever I roam Wherever your boats are sailing towards I will follow Whenever you grieve, whatever you need For it, I will bleed and give you safety Even if you don't need me Clovers grow wherever I roam Wherever your boats are sailing towards I will follow Whenever you grieve, whatever you need For it, I will bleed and give you safety Even if you don't need me Clovers grow wherever I roam Wherever your boats are sailing towards I will follow Whenever you grieve, whatever you need For it, I will bleed and give you safety Even if you don't need me CLOVERS GROW WHEREVER I ROAM WHEREVER YOUR BOATS ARE SAILING TOWARDS I WILL FOLLOW WHENEVER YOU GRIEVE, WHATEVER YOU NEED FOR IT, I WILL BLEED AND GIVE YOU SAFETY EVEN IF YOU DON'T NEED ME CLOVERS GROW WHEREVER I ROAM WHEREVER YOUR BOATS ARE SAILING TOWARDS I WILL FOLLOW WHENEVER YOU GRIEVE, WHATEVER YOU NEED FOR IT, I WILL BLEED AND GIVE YOU SAFETY EVEN IF YOU DON'T NEED ME AROUND

Trumpets 04:08
I've been waiting all week for you To come on over with whatever's new That you've smuggled away perfectly in your bloom I've been waiting all afternoon For another lovely rendezvous Where the scent of honied vinegar fills my room I don't know how to talk about These concepts that sort of linger around in my mind They clasp onto my lips all the time I feel every waking minute strain To believe that I still entertain Your company with such a culpable mind Are you still opening your door And leaving it there so I can fetch some more? Because the water's hotter than ever before You leave me blushing every time you crush me Out of the blue, I feel you rushing, such a lovely feeling WOOH! SHE IS MY LITTLE TRUMPET GIRL, GENTLE AS CAN BE ALWAYS LEAVING MY HEAD SPINNING ELEMENTARY SHE IS MY LITTLE TRUMPET GIRL, NOISY AS CAN BE ALWAYS LEAVING MY HEAD SPINNING ELEMENTARY

Noless 05:52
The streets are littered with rubble and dust Their thoughts are filled with uncertainty and lust Torn in quarters and scattered like playing cards Huddled up like a package of lice Covered up in a fresh sheet of white Ending where I know i've walked to far Angels with faces paler than snow, they cup my cheeks and ask "Are you yet living?" ("Am I yet living?") In a room lacks of color and tone, spinning on shattered glass I am not living (You are not living) Because I know what i've done and I know it was wrong And I sin to the beat of every beautiful song And it plays on repeat in the back of my mind Over and over again ten-hundred-thousand times Until my head starts to hurt and my ears start to bleed And my arms fly forward at unreachable speeds Digits and demons and ashes from flares Are all I can see when I take to the air I ponder how long before I should go, but walking alone, I know There is no reason (There is no reason) I'm far too young to grow this old, suburbia closing in Without treason (Without treason) And I know there are no saviors behind those clouds And I know that nothing can save me now Because I know what i've done and it was all just a lie And I still see them falling from the hole in the sky The creatures that lurk the abandoned streets And the words that tear at the root of the wheat Until their limbs wear out and their veins start to ache And, like branches, the cracks in the pavement break Digital demons and cigarette flakes Are still all I see when I cross the lake The spirit of all past lovers approaches, she cups my shoulders and asks "Are you yet living?" ("Am I yet living?") I was taught the book was once a token, but now I know that It was always fiction (It was always fiction) And I know there are no saviors behind those clouds And I know that nothing can save me now This is it...

When We Talk 05:21
There are times when I don't know what to say Letting words drift violently away There are times when I look into your eyes As black lightning bolts trickle down your thighs I don't know how far you are up north But I know you'll disappear if I don't step forth I can see through the soul of your city from an airplane I just wonder if i'll see you again Now you're holding my stiffness in the dark of the cold Letting your neon smile lighten up the snow The faces passing by reassure the symphony But I just don't know if I can pull you in close enough to me We were up until the morning struck us down, getting lost in conversation Swimming through literature for two months straight, until you lost your patience Leaving my troubled mind to traipse aimlessly, out of the fear That you are losing me to your heart, dear You know what I think about when we talk about it But I don't know if you'll shout when we talk about it You're standing so far away when we talk about that You know we don't have to say if you don't want to talk about that I wonder how close we can move when we talk about it I can still circle around you when we talk about that I'll be up the entire night if you want to talk about it You say you won't, but you just might need to talk about that It's not that hard And it's not too late (INSIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIDE) You know what I think about when we talk about it But I don't know if you'll shout when we talk about it (INSIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIDE) You're standing so far away when we talk about that You know we don't have to say if you don't want to talk about that (INSIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIDE) I wonder how close we can move when we talk about it I can still circle around you when we talk about that (INSIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIDE) I'll be up the entire night out of the fear That you are losing me to your heart, dear

Are you still waiting in the snow? Holding on tightly to what you should know? The final piece falls into place When there's nobody around, it's no longer a race I'm still waiting for your love Hiding in your shadow until the dawn If I find a way out of this maze Then be still, dear, i'm coming your way Am I wasting all of your precious time? Do you have anywhere to go tonight? You're slowly burning out my soul Spirits flying in from the unknown They don't know how to dance anymore They don't make love like they use to before The final piece falls into place Just hold on, dear, i'm coming your way Before your beautiful face is drawn away into the flames Do you want to just get up on stage and dance? Do you want to just get up on stage and dance? Do you want to just get up on stage and dance? Do you want to just get up on stage and dance? Do you want to just get up on stage and dance? Do you want to just get up on stage and dance? (My ears are bleeding) Do you want to just get up on stage and dance? Do you want to just get up on stage and dance? (My ears are bleeding)

"The shore was fledged with palm trees. These stood or leaned or reclined against the light and their green feathers were a hundred feet up in the air. The ground beneath them was a bank covered with coarse grass, torn everywhere by the upheavals of fallen trees, scattered with decaying coconuts and palm saplings. Behind this was the darkness of the forest proper and the open space of the scar. Ralph stood, one hand against a grey trunk, and screwed up his eyes against the shimmering water. Out there, perhaps a mile away, the white surf flinked on a coral reef, and beyond that the open sea was dark blue. Within the irregular arc of coral the lagoon was still as a mountain lake--blue of all shades and shadowy green and purple. The beach between the palm terrace and the water was a thin stick, endless apparently, for to Ralph's left the perspectives of palm and beach and water drew to a point at infinity; and always, almost visible, was the heat."

January 05:45
The fall play was a disaster on wheels Wake me up, shake me up You're leaving me with the click of your heels Wake me up, shake me up I don't want to stay here, but I don't want to wait to go In January, when they ran away It's hard to believe it was only seven years ago Wake me up, i'd rather stay up Stumbling back home half-awake and unsure Wake me up, shake me up Days turn to nights as I wait for you to emerge From the still people in moving images I start to feel my insides slowly sink below 20,000 leagues under the sea It's hard to live when your life is controlled By a sleeping pill and a windowsill Is it fair to still be thinking of the past? To want more than to make these seasons last? 動画でまだ人々 1月/ザ・ジャーナリスト あなたの心を開き、 私は家に来ています

I've been pulling a boulder Running around like a robot with guns on it's shoulders I've been sailing across the ocean To an island, hoping no one would give me a notion That i've given up on all ideas To chase away what's worth my fears I've given up on all modern hymns And I walk away with nothing in my hands THE SAINTS ARE COMING TO TAKE ME AWAY THE SAINTS ARE COMING TO TAKE ME AWAY I've been standing at the beach Every day, hoping the waves would pull me into their reach I've been waiting forever For an albatross to come and save me from this weather But now, i've given up on all ideas That chasing them is worth my fears Have I given up on all modern hymns? Am I walking out with nothing in my hands? THE SAINTS ARE COMING TO TAKE ME AWAY THE SAINTS ARE COMING TO TAKE ME AWAY Have I given up on all ideas That chasing them is worth my fears? Have I given up on all modern hymns? Am I walking out with nothing in my hands? WOOOH! UHHH! HEY! Am I lost and insecure? I found a way out, but i'm not sure Now that I found what I need Should I stay or should I leave? THE SAINTS ARE COMING TO TAKE ME AWAY THE SAINTS ARE COMING TO TAKE ME AWAY

I'm coming in on high, profile kept on low Watching all the classy ladies click the floor with their toes They're twelve feet tall, there's glitter on the walls Nobody's giving reasons not to have a ball There's a scintillating lass who's throbbing to the brass She's striking down the DJ as she's shaking that ass I'm jolting red and blue, I feel it in my feet I can't help but feel that something's wrong with me I turn around and you grip me, grip me, grip me, no You grip me, grip me, grip me, no I try to break out, the pupils fall about You've got a wicked grin that drowns out the crowd What the hell is wrong with you? You're feeling lucky, too? I feel like i've got a sudden case of the blues A raisin in the sun, a catcher in a rye I'm just babbling nonsense in an effort to cry Before you drag me to the light and reach in for a bite You shut the door closed and I can no longer fight So you buy-buy a ticket to ride-ride You'll leave me to die-die and get out of here With the rise-rise of your empire-pire You'll exercise-cise their greatest fear As you grip me, grip me, grip me, no As you grip me- AAAH! Grip me, grip me, oh no I try to break away like currents between the waves It's all I can think of in the heat of dismay Your fingers take a glide from my spine to the crease You shock me with a touch and I let out a scream- AAAH! In the kitchen where he hides, his brother grabbed a knife Stabbed him twice in the stomach and again in the eyes That's exactly how I feel, being turned into a meal Swallowed in one bite, and now, I know this is real So you buy-buy a ticket to ride-ride You'll leave me to die-die and get out of here With the rise-rise of your empire-pire You'll exercise-cise their greatest fear In the back of their souls Uuuh... Oouh... Ohhh... Uuhh... Uunh, yeah... Oooh! Yeah... Nuuh! ARGH! So goodbye-bye to all past lies-lies That exercise-cise a greater fear I said goodbye-bye to all past tries-tries To sterilize-lize a reason to hear SO GOODBYE-BYE TO ALL PAST LIES-LIES THAT EXERCISE-CISE A GREATER FEAR I SAID GOODBYE-BYE TO ALL PAST TRIES-TRIES TO STERILIZE-LIZE A REASON TO HEAR IN THE BACK OF MY SOUL IN THE BACK OF MY SOUL IN THE BACK OF MY SOUL IN THE BACK OF MY SOUL IN THE BACK OF MY SOUL MY SOUL! MY SOUL! MY SOUL! MY SOUL!

Wake up, sunshine, get your midmorning snack out of the fridge Wake up, sunshine, get your midmorning snack out of the fridge Get out of bed, make your bed, check for broken glass from the windows Hallways color-coded red, blue, green, white, black, pink, orange, purple, yellow Check the time, the closet's locked, guns kept in the attic for breakdowns Check if the neighbor's door's blocked, can't let children go near the playground Her bosom is blooming, our child is looming My face is turning inside out Hear head's exploding, the screen's still loading My ears are burning and I can't put it out Take a shower, wash your hair and body until there's no skin left Breakfast cancelled, lunch cancelled, dinner cancelled, we will just starve to death Spiders rule the basement, glue the door shut tight, no one can come in Grab the hammer, grab some nails, there's a message on the phone, run it: "It's been so long since i've seen you smile. You've changed so much in such a short while. Maybe it's time to call it quits on this." Her bosom is blooming, our child is looming My face is turning inside out Hear head's exploding, the screen's still loading My ears are burning and I can't put it out Her bosom is blooming, our child is looming My face is turning inside out Hear head's exploding, the screen's still loading I am still running OUT OF TIME

Earthbound 04:56
Open your eyes to the sunrise, small wonders on this churly morn Regaining my balance on the inside, my skin feels like it's broken and torn I saw it shoot down from outer space Nothing is ever in it's right place Polygons and glaciers align like planets on a corpulent wave Burning fingers and raindrops collide as astronauts are taking the stage A curse has fallen down upon this town My head's falling into the clouds, i'm going earthbound The telephone is ringing on Elm, a voice is asking me if I understand Quarters dancing on shallow well, I hear them calling from across the land I saw them tear down the milky I never thought i'd ever be in such dismay Fever dreaming burning my head as the city's turning inside out Climbing up on skin turning red, my legs are trembling and twist with a shout Not a single clue as to what I should do now Fingers falling in through the clouds, i'm going earthbound now... HEY! HMM-HMM! There's a horizon a thousand yards from where I stare I don't feel like i'm ever going anywhere It just feels like i'm going back to where I came... ...from, and yet, everything remains the same This twisted face is scaring more than it should I feel like i'm bleeding more than I ever could My ears have given out, and yet, I can still hear the sound I don't know where i'm headed, but i'm going earthbound I DON'T KNOW WHERE I'M HEADED! BUT I'M GOING EARTHBOUND! ...What? Shit.

Woke up around 2am in a hotel bed Through the car windows, the moonlight bled Driving through the early morning fog once again Down to the airport to see a long lost friend Took her out for coffee and we talked for a while And we kissed, hugged and laughed as we said goodbye Driving back to the hotel, I thought about what we said And falling back asleep, I wondered if i'd see her again I carry my lover to the edge of the city Where people drown to serve and the weather's not as shitty We'll drag each other across the street, then onto the subway Staring out the window and waiting for some rain And I know there's no sun behind those clouds And nothing is out to get me now I feel warm when you're by my side And nothing is out to change my mind She says she misses San Francisco and I miss Seattle Because the haze of the morning makes my mind a little less addled And even when I think I clearly, I still can't see the light I'm just blindly catching snowflakes drifting through the night But I know there's no sun behind those clouds And nobody's out to get me now I feel safe when you stay by my side And no hand could ever break yours from mine OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH, UH-NA-NEE-NA-NA-NA-NUHH, DUH-DUH-DOO-DUH-DUH All the time, at every stretch I see still people in moving images And as I go, it's plain to see There's no one down there waiting for me Down in NYC And that's reality...

about

Still People in Moving Images is my debut studio album, recorded over a span of roughly a year and a half with multiple release delays due to my terrible sense of timing.

All thirteen tracks were written, produced, recorded, mixed and mastered by myself in my bedroom (like most artists these days), using the limited resources I already had readily available, such as GarageBand on my iPhone, my Squier Telecaster (which i've affectionately named "Alpha") and Sony Vegas to create crossfades and other things GarageBand can't do on it's own. Almost no money went directly into the making of this album, aside from the meals I bought at local fast food outlets to keep me going for the past six months.

This album was personally selected to be finished among a series of other "albums" i've been working on since 2011 (since that same year, which is when I began taking an interest in songwriting, i've written about 200+ original songs, for better or for worse). I had initially chosen the earliest of these albums to be finished and released first, though the songs became extremely boring to work on (basically the weirdest fusion of Ride and The Verve you can think of). So, instead, I chose my personal favorite of these albums to finish recording instead.

The general sound of the album, as well as my sound in general, is based on a unique fusion of 90's shoegaze (i.e. My Bloody Valentine, Ride, Slowdive) and post-Britpop (i.e. early Coldplay), as well as a bit of modern indie rock (i.e. Interpol, Arcade Fire, The National), a sound that i've created and used since 2014, and have personally dubbed "slowgazing", due to my typical preferences for slower tempos, and it's comparability to slowcore music (that, and "Britgaze" didn't click quite as well, and neither did "shoepop"). Adding to this already heavy, atmospheric sound, Still People in Moving Images in specific also takes inspiration from genres such as gospel, chorale, jazz, blues, new wave, post-punk, EDM, krautrock, trip-hop and post-rock, thus ultimately creating a colorful-sounding album where no two songs are exactly alike.

Like 99% of indie rock records these days, the lyrical content of these particular songs suggest themes of loss, desire, regret, adventure, mental escapism, anxiety, depression, separation, coming of age and flamingo transformation.

Is it the best album you'll have ever heard since Dark Side of the Moon? Probably not. There are some songs off this album that sometimes make me cringe a slight bit. However, if you're a fan of artistically and heavily layered music with plenty of reverb, echo, feedback, background noises and other icings on the cake, you might enjoy what I have to offer here.
